Love it! No issues as others have stated.

I love this bottle. There were some bad reviews so I hesitated but I am so glad I went ahead and purchased this! I did not have any of the issues listed. It seals great and works wonderfully. Now once or twice I did not have the lid on correctly and I couldn't squeeze the water out, but once I readjusted the lid it was fine. I haven't used it outdoors yet, but our tap water is super hard and was nasty tasting. I have to drink 64 oz a day an hated spending the money on bottled water. I can easily get my water in now because it tastes great! Better than bottled in my opinion.. I am not a water drink and don't usually like water even bottled, but this I don't mind at all!! I have been recommending this to everyone. If you're thinking about it BUY IT!

Kept us from getting sick in a third world country!

Great water bottle for filtering water. This was taken to a third world country to make sure our water was extra filtered. Beware though-- the taste of the first sip threw the filter will make you gag.... or throw up. It is very soapy and gross tasting. Once you get past that it is a great water bottle!

OUTSTANDING - have used worldwide for many years

Broke the ring on top from extremely well traveled years-old bottle. This is a replacement. They used to give these out to Peace Corps volunteers, it was the go-to for filtered water - no mattered how polluted, worldwide. Have replaced the filter before long overseas trips. Old, still usable bottle with broken ring top, has been around the world literally half a dozen times (it will get donated 'cause broken ring top can catch on things when traveling).

Perfect for work and travel

Love my Berkey travel water bottle. I have used it at work and for travel. I will say however that I find replacing the filter isn't always the easiest. It is lightweight and cost worthy!

Burkey is The Best!

I bought this travel water bottle for my trip to Canada recently, as I wanted clean and purified water from where ever I could fill up my bottle. The water from it was super clean tasting and looking every time!I have known about the Burkey home water filtration systems for awhile now, but had no idea they offered these.I won’t travel without it!

Less fragil than he first two, and happily a wider straw makes sipping easier.

All in all, a much improved product. I carry it with me pretty much all the time. It is also great for long trips, since i can drink water from any state and not get a trip ruining unpleasant reaction from strange water. Well worth it!

Reputable company made water filter bottle.

It does not leak! Do not like the straw. Decided to drink from the bottle. It holds less than the designated number of ounces because of the filter.

Extremely disappointed in the damaged packaging and defective product.

Extremely disappointed that the package was damaged and as a result damaged. I tried to use the product but I could not get the bottle stop leaking from the seal and tightly screwed on lid . It was extremely difficult to drink water from the bottle. I tried squeezing the bottle and tried to drink from the built in straw and became very frustrated because little to no water would come out of it. I would like a replacement bottle as soon as possible, as I have health condition that requires me to drink more than the recommended allowance of water. Please keep me updated on the progress of the arrival date.Thank youSherry

Love berkey, but not this bottle

I bought this bottle because I love our big berkey filter and wanted a portable version for bike rides and traveling. The water tastes great, just like out of the big filter, but the bottle isn’t functional for on the go. It leaks when it’s not perfectly upright, and whenever there’s a change in elevation (and therefore pressure). Mine also started growing mold, but that’s probably due to where I current live in a hot and humid region of southern Spain, where everything gets moldy. If you live somewhere similar then keep that in mind … our big berkey has never grown mold, but the bottle has, even though I clean it, dry it and store it open.

Does the job

I travel a lot and buying water all the time adds up. This makes tap water taste great and isn't hard to use. I've used other filters and they're difficult to drink through. Give the bottle a little squeeze and the water comes out easy. Some reviews said it was hard to drink from, not at all. How fast are these people trying to drink their water anyway? It comes out in normal sized sips.Actually I enjoy sipping from it through the day and carry it everywhere I go. It comes in handy during awkward social moments when you don't know what to say next so you take a little sip of something.

Clean water everywhere you go

There are a few downsides... it leaks if you tip it, it doesn't hold a ton of water since the filter takes up room, and you do have to suck hard or squeeze the bottle a little since it has to make its way through the filter. But I used this for months while AirBnB hopping and it was great to have something so small to pack, and not have to buy bottled water or worry about the quality of the water wherever I went. Berkey filters are so much better than everything out there that I'll live with the few downside to get consistently great tasting quality water wherever I go. If you don't mind a little effort, you can squeeze it a dozen times and aim it into a cup to make coffee or tea.

bought 4 at once, All good

I can tell you I was skeptical in purchasing these because it seems there have been some issues with leaking. I bought 4 at once and I don't have that issues with any of them. I only gave a 4 because I'm taking berkeys word that they are doing there job, I have no way of telling other than taste, Brita can give you a good taste, Doesn't mean its taking anything out. We also have a big berkey that's amazing so I am relying on these to work as well. with the berkey you know its working because the top reservoir about once a month needs to be cleaned due to lime deposits and scaling, the bottom filtered section I've never had to clean unless i just wanted to. Love the concept, love the easy of use if they don't hold up I will be back. If you camp, travel or otherwise find yourself with questionable water this will defiantly be a life saver. Hope this helps.

Best Water Bottle Ever

I hesitated for quite some time about purchasing this bottle, but I am so glad that I finally did and I LOVE my Berkey Sport. I am actually shocked at all of the negative reviews, but then again, people don't exactly like to read instructions and you have to with this bottle. You have to squeeze from the bottom to propel the water through the straw rather than drinking it through the straw in a traditional sense. I did a lot of research about the Berkey prior to purchasing mine and I am confident that I made a great choice. The water tastes amazing, even compared to bottled water. I am very pleased. My only request is that the bottle be made a few ounces bigger, but it's not a deal breaker, obviously.

I've Been Buying These For Ten Years!

The first time I bought a Berkey Sport Water bottle, I bought 4 of them, for my husband, myself, and our two kids to take to Spain for my daughters wedding. We all drink filtered water, and who wants to have to buy, and carry water water, or worry about even finding it in another country? Any sink, or fountain, or even lake! is a filtered water source when you own a Berkey. It makes life so much easier, and the water tastes amazing. Once our trip was over, we just used it here at home instead of buying bottled water. Much better for our environment, first of all, and very convenient for all the things we like to do outside as well, especially hiking, camping, and kayaking. If I run out of water while I'm kayaking, I can just dip into the lake with my Berkey.....Presto!! Fresh, clean, water! Also, for you outdoor enthusiasts, did you know that most of the portable water filter systems do NOT filter out pharmaceuticals? Nope, not even the most popular, Sawyer Squeeze. So I feel really lucky to have found Berkey, and I've turned so many people on to them. If you're considering this purchase, you won't be sorry... P.S. I have a wedding day picture of my daughter getting ready to be married in Spain, and there's a Berkey Sports bottle in the foreground. I should probably contact the company with that picture. :)

Nice but can leak

Used for travel to insure I had purified water to drink. As long as bottle is upright it's pretty good but can leak from straw area as it just folds thick straw over when closing lid. To take a drink, you squeeze the bottle. Good quality of materials and should last a long time. Was able to take empty bottle into airport and fill after going thru security which was great. However, once in flight climbing altitude, noticed pressure increase caused water to force out through straw, leak even though closed, had to open bottle to release pressure until at altitude, then was fine.

Happy with Berkey bottle

After reading the reviews I was hesitant to order a bottle because, yes, it is not cheap. So far I have had no issues with the bottle and the water it filters does taste better(l also doubted this claim). The top has a gasket, if it leaks water I just snug it until it stops. If it leaks air while using the straw or still leaks water after tightening I just remove the top then put it back on. It’s like cross threading a bolt, the top will go on and tighten but not be started correctly. I use the bottle at work mostly and refill it about six times a day. Flushing is kind of a pain because you have to squeeze the bottle but it is what it is. My only gripe would be not offering a larger bottle so would not have to refill so much.

Good for now.

I took this on a recent trip to Europe to create drinking water. In the past I had experienced a steel Berkey filter system and had high hopes. Indeed as other reviews state this bottle is not the easiest to maneuver and one must squeeze and squeeze while continually refilling to get the required pressure, and it is not water-tight. I can't say it gives the same clean water taste as the true Berkey filtering products but it did save me from having to purchase bottled water.I used a more reliable bottle to carry water during the day and squeezed water each night. For now this is the best choice I have found.
